WoW Patch notes here:
http://www.worldofwa...com/patchnotes/

Real ID info here:
http://us.battle.net/realid/?rhtml=y

And remember, Real ID is going to be a part of Battle.net as a whole. So StarCraft players should get this set up as well.

Oh god, this was such a terrible way to add friends in SC2... Basically, you either had to add them via their e-mail, which would would enable you to see their real name, or you had to have played with them first or some how access their profile, and add them from there. Basically, you either had to play with them, or be in the same league as them, which isn't always the case D:

I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work.

See if you can just make a throwaway email like hotmail/gmail and change your address to that?
I would not recommend something like 10minutemail.com since you'd have no way of recovering lost passwords and stuff like that.

There's a Broadcast to Real ID thing that sends a message to everyone on your list

HamsterCorp and I have been jokingly using it as a Twitter thing for the last 20 minutes.

Anyone find any standalone client for it? I found some that say they work with battlenet but they're all many years old, so probably don't work.
update: I tried a plugin for Miranda IM client, but it just crashes. I think these are made for the old battle.net, like for Diablo II, it had a space for "chat room" in the interface, so yeah..

Prediction: They will make an IM client, but only usable if you pay an extra fee. Similar to WoW remote.
