Isotoxin Posted May 1, 2015 From the looks of the videos and Kickstarter, this is already shaping up to be something pretty great. Having some big Rare players helps, too. Share this post Link to post
QuaintHazard Posted May 1, 2015 Given the big names from Rare are working on this, I feel that its safe enough to back up this project. I gave my trust in Shovel Knight, and that worked, so I will put my trust into this too. Share this post Link to post
Fox McSpark Posted May 2, 2015 I like where this is going. Edit: As of this writing, all but 3 Stretch Goals have been achieved (if I'm converting correctly). Share this post Link to post
Toamto Posted May 2, 2015 They've also raised over a million $USD right now, only about 300k before they have a million pounds. Also: Share this post Link to post

FlippyWarbear Posted May 3, 2015 I. Cant. Wait. I grew up with Rare. I never had the heart to get rid of my N64 just because of all the Rare games. Thats right you 30+ other titles in my collection, you fuckers are still with me because of Rare, so be grateful you bastards! I have already fell in love with these new characters, they really ooze the Rareness out of them and the music glimpses really brings back the old memories. I am not surprised at all that they gathered all that dough so fast. 3D Platforms dont exist anymore (exceptions such as A Hat In Time confirms the rule) so there is plenty of space for one once again. I hope they make it massive, just like their previous games. If this fails, I will be so sad! Share this post Link to post
FlippyWarbear Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Some tunes: EDIT: Sorry, didnt see the second one was posted already. Oh well, re-post because re-post! Edited May 3, 2015 by FlippyWarbear Share this post Link to post
QuaintHazard Posted May 11, 2015 New character Trowzer As the Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter campaign ascends to even more spectacular heights, it’s high time we introduced you to the game’s first support character: flash, wheeler dealing serpent, Trowzer! Trowzer is a business-snake whose career never took off. Not that he knows it – the smug, serpent salesman thinks he’s the bee’s knees (not that he has knees), and for a little dosh he’ll teach you some of the slick moves he picked up on the high-stakes sales floor. Yooka-Laylee’s creative lead, Gavin Price explains: “Trowzer thinks of himself as the best salesman ever, but with his downbeat appearance and 1980’s mobile phone, life never took off for him. “He’ll take your money and count it (he’s an Adder…) and because he knows best he’ll even demonstrate the moves you just bought for you to replicate… if you can follow his jiggling.” Character artist extraordinaire, Mr. Steve Mayles described the design process behind his latest creation: “I didn’t want him to be a snake in the traditional sense, and when Gav suggested he should have shorts on (do I have to add shorts to all of my characters?!), a great idea for this was his body could curl back up through the other leg hole. So he’ll move with a certain springiness, which will be fun to animate.” Definitely a Rare-like design. I'm looking super forward to this game. Share this post Link to post
