Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY!!

From July 26th at 10 AM PDT to August 1st *whenever*, Summer Games Done Quick is live! It's an event where a big ol' bunch of speedrunners go through games for charity! All money raised goes to help out Doctors Without Borders. It's a group to help get doctors to where they need to be to help out people all over the world! They also support the Prevent Cancer Foundation in AGDQ! It's to help prevent cancer, AND it's a foundation! Wow!

By donating certain amounts during certain times as shown on the schedule, you'll be entered into a chance to win cool prizes! In addition, you can have your donation be put towards incentives for extra things for the speedrunners to do, such as choosing between games when there are two games that could take a spot (Pokemon Red or Pokemon Blue), extra challenges before or after a main speedrun happens (Speedrunning Big's story before the speedrun of Sonic Adventure DX), and also bid wars for things in certain games (Names of characters and such). Putting your money towards an incentive is an extra bonus and does not take any of your donation away from the charity, so be sure to choose an incentive you like if you donate!

Here's the Twitch stream!

Here's the main website for Games Done Quick!

Here's the page for all the fun stuff, including a rough schedule, prizes, and DONATING!

Here's the much better schedule to actually keep track of stuff!

TheYetee is also selling some pretty sick shirts, which you can buy here!

Will there be more links to things? I don't even know! Bet there's gonna be a Humble Bundle, though. They usually do that.

Is there a reason why he's using a Japanese copy?  I missed out on the intro. Is it because of the bugs?

Is there a reason why he's using a Japanese copy?

Mostly "first edition" things and Japanese text is faster to skip through than English.

Miniscule, but still important.

Japanese uses less characters to convey the same words, so the end result is less for the game to scroll through. On top of that, games often display characters faster. So, obviously, the Japanese has an edge. It's minor, but it adds up. There are exceptions though, I know the Spanish-version of Wind Waker, for some reason, is faster than the Japanese.

Geoff is one speed runner that I'm really looking forward to. I saw his spot last time he was around and it was really entertaining. He's good at playing off the crowd. Or maybe I was just entertained by his purple hair.

It was awesome how Eazinn and gari were synchronized at the start of the DKC race!

The positions switched around a lot so it was very close.  Newage comeback was amazing.  Early game far behind and caught up no problem.

That Crash 3 run made me pretty comfortable in comparison.

Now the Resident Evil block begins. Wonder how they're gonna break this game.

The tetris grandmaster block is going to be pretty great if you can catch it before TP.
