Only participating in the open beta because I'm cheap. \o/

That said, I've got Lucio, Roadhog, Junkrat, and Soldier 76 as my favorites for each role.

I'm trying to work myself into D.va and Reaper because I got legendary skins from the level up loot boxes. Woo. Never gonna see it again after the beta. haha.

It's fun, definitely a reimagining of TF2. My main concern is every game i've been in has been a route, but that is probably a function of all the noobs as much as anything.

Just installed it today and started playing. Wanted to be Genji because ninjas are badass and swords are cool and he's both and there are shurikens and wall-climbing and random generic Japanese things. He's fun.

Unfortunately, like TF2, I can't aim. Also unfortunately, nobody also seems to like healing. So I'm Mercy now. She's basically TF2's medic if Kritzkrieg and Medigun were combined into the same gun, turned into a woman, and grew wings. Also her Ultimate resurrects people, and everybody loves that.

Again unfortunately, most of the people I've played with don't seem to understand the idea of 'objectives'. Many of them just kind of wandered around in a CTP map, turtling near the entrance, setting up turrets, and wondering why having everyone on the team except me be an offensive class was a bad idea. Also we had no tank. Fun still, but man I really wish people at least TRIED to follow objectives to make the fight not so one-sided.

EDIT: Favourite ability is Hanzo's sonic arrow thing. I will probably never play Hanzo, but DAMN is that thing so useful in Defending matches. Just shoot it on a corner, and it basically tells your entire team "YES, please shoot that guy as soon as he pops his head out."

Shall we post our Battle.Net ID so we can play all together?

Bastion, McCree and Mercy are probably my 3 favorites.

May have switched from Mercy to Zenyatta. His marked for death move is pretty awesome (and can't miss) and is fairly good at both healing and doing strong ranged attacks at the same time.

I'm really surprised how balanced the game feels with so many unique characters. And even more surprised that even the support characters don't seem to have any overlap in terms of ability.

D.va, Mei, Mercy and 76 are my favorites inb each of their classes. Overall Mei is probs my favorite. Flanking, freezing then popping off headshots with the ice cicles can bring down even tanks.

Also don't get too attached to your joker junkrat skins. All unlocks and stats reset when the game goes live

My pros and cons of the game so far.

+it's fun, it's basically TF2 minus the hats (and even that's debatable)

+each character plays completely differently, even ones from the same class type

+chances are, there's a character for you no matter what kind of player type you are

+...and even then, you're likely to try out the other ones, just because they look cool

+the level designs and locations are BEAUTIFUL, which is something I've always criticized about TF2

+the Pixar-esque look is really pretty to look at, the graphics are fantastic, and the main theme is catchy

+all the smooth animations you can choose from, from victory poses to emotes

+lots of heroes have great ways to get around, encouraging 360 degrees of exploration

+it tells you how balanced your team is, and what hero classes you might want on a specific game type

-Bastion is OP, please nerf

-many heroes sometimes won't shut up about how they're from a specific ethnicity's archetype; I am so tired of hearing Hanzo talk about how Japanese he is

-SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT YOUR GODDAMN HONOR HANZO I GET IT YOU'RE JAPANESE

-the chat log isn't as visible as TF2's; most of the time, when people type something, I don't realize they have

-it can be fairly annoying for a team to do so well, and then get instantly wrecked by an Ultimate that's impossible to see coming (those damn wheels)

-everyone playing as either Reapers or Bastions

-people not commending; I'm not asking to be commended (I rarely show up on the top 4), but when people play well it's sad to see only 4 maybe 5 points out of 12 players click the button

-I've barely gotten any lootboxes/loot and already I have a double of something

-the time it takes to get a loot of something you actually want

-when it tells you the game type is 'Attack' or 'Defend', it doesn't specify if you're trying to move the cart forward or if you're contesting for a point. Minor nitpick, but I base my initial hero on that (I can just switch yeah, but like I said, nitpick; would be nice to know my objective beforehand though)

-many of the game highlights are not that great; it doesn't consider great heals as a highlight, and that makes healers sad

-the fact that it's going to cost me $80 very very soon

Finally figured out how to not suck at Genji. I find that he's actually the best way to kill annoying Bastion holds since his Deflect basically reflects all the damage back and instant-kills them.

Still can't tell if Swift Strike actually damages enemies that I pass through though, or if it only damages at the end of the dash. Or how to use Dragonblade without flailing around like a madman.

Pretty sure Swift Strike damage any enemy you pass through, and from what I've seen Genji players do, when using dragon blade, use it near an enemy, or within dash range, kill them, insta-get dash and repeat. (I really hate Genji. At least good Genjis) That was likely what you were doing anyway, so yay not helping.
