Pretty sure Swift Strike damage any enemy you pass through, and from what I've seen Genji players do, when using dragon blade, use it near an enemy, or within dash range, kill them, insta-get dash and repeat. (I really hate Genji. At least good Genjis) That was likely what you were doing anyway, so yay not helping.

Actually, I never used the dash that often because I keep sucking at it. Thanks a lot, I didn't know Dragonblade's damage could be combined with the dash. I'll try that when the game comes out.

Overwatch released their third hero introduction short-film called 'Dragons'. Obviously, it's about Hanzo and Genji.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ09xdxzIJQ

I love the artstyle, the animation is great as always, and thankfully the dialogue isn't as bad as the 2nd one with that terrible 'Spiders have no emotions' line... but if I have to hear the words 'honour' and 'redemption' one more damn time I'm going to scream.

Funnily enough, one Youtuber uploaded a video a few hours before this became live predicting the plot of the next short. Entitled 'Dragunz'.

It's hilariously accurate.

This game has options to turn on subtitles? Because I'm missing on a lot of hero-to-hero dialogue.

Made a Discord channel for Overwatch, feel free to join and invite anyone. It's not strictly a Nom channel so there's a lot of new and old faces. We're currently in the process of migrating from another channel though so as of this posting, there's only 6 people in it out of about 20 or so from the previous channel. The link doesn't expire, but I'll change it if I have to. https://discord.gg/011u1zN66gz9PyK3D

I don't have any rules, just try not to piss anyone off. If things get out of hand then I'll execute with extreme prejudice.

I keep getting confused at the terminology this game uses for payload maps.

If I'm defending, why am I attacking the payload? If I'm attacking, why am I constantly having to be near the thing I'm supposedly attacking like I was escorting it? Who's doing what?

Also doesn't help that unless you've been to the map before, you don't know what kind of map type it is since you're always either attacking or defending. Would be nice to know the map type with the map name (like CTP, Payload, etc). Minor gripe since you can change heroes anytime, but a gripe nonetheless.

I agree the loading screen should have stated what type of game mode you're getting into.

Because she's the youngest of the group.  Also cause reasons such as Dad 76

If you're wondering about how the XP system works, I've been looking at various analysises (analyisi? does 'analysis' even have a plural?) and with my own experience of how it works.

4.01xp for each second you are active in a match

150xp for gold medals

100xp for silver medals

50xp for bronze medals

500xp for winning the match

250xp for staying until the very end of the match, win or lose

200xp extra for each consecutive match played

400xp for joining a match already in progress

1500xp is granted for your first win of the day, available only every 24 hours

you gain 20% more xp for playing in a group than solo

Level 1 1500

Level 2 3000

Level 3 4500

Level 4 6000

Level 5 7500

Level 6 8500

Level 7 9500

Level 8 10500

Level 9 11500

Level 10 12500

Level 11 13500

Level 12 14500

Level 13 15500

Level 14 16500

Level 15 17500

Level 16 18500

Level 17 19000

Level 18 19500

Level 19 20000

Level 20 20500

Level 21 21000

Level 22 21500

Level 23 and up 22000

Is it not 60/120/180 experience from bronze/silver/gold?

That's likely from the 20% multiplier. I don't believe this is all of the information though, as there are other likely multipliers available. I just haven't come across it yet.

I thought you also got a little bit of XP if you get Epic or Legendary commendations. I guess it's nothing more than a butt-pat.

Also, it's analyses.

Nope. End-game commendations currently do nothing, though Blizzard says there might be. Honestly, I hope it stays the way it does.

At the moment, all it does is let the voted player know they did well and get appreciated. And if you voted for yourself because you thought you needed a pat on the back, why not, right?

It's weird. My TF2 skills made the transition to Overwatch easier, but the longer I play, the more I realize that -- unlike TF2 -- I don't feel myself getting any better.

Kind of like whenever I go visit a friend's house to play videogames, I forget how to play the games I've already done every time I leave. Pretty much the same feeling when I switch heroes. Sometimes I wreck with Genji, but if I EVER switch out of Genji for that day I will never get that good again. It's kind of frustrating.
