Round End Song Suggestions

Recommended Posts

A list of the current song playlist can be found here

Please post all song suggestions here.

We're looking for songs and clips that provide a sense of emotion. Don't just go through your MP3 player's playlist and pick your favorite songs, we're not a top 40 radio station. Joy, excitement, mayhem, and destruction. Upbeat tunes or whimsical melodies such as "nom nom nom nom nom nom nom" by Parry Gripp or the 1812 overture by Tchaikovsky are good examples. Also take into consideration that there will be a lot of background noise when these play, and that a heavy bassline present in most dance or jumpstyle mixes make for a difficult conversion.

Some general guidelines to posting suggestions:

?Provide a link or youtube version of the song, stereo preferred.

?List the artist and song title, if not already present in the link

?Point out a time frame you think will be good.

?Check for duplicate entries. I'll post a short guide on that further down.

?No songs that imply a sense of "haha you lose" will be considered. That includes things like "Another One Bites the Dust," etc...

The list of songs currently on the server, as well as the list of songs set to play at any given time can be found in this thread. The old suggestion thread can be found here.

How to check for duplicate youtube suggestions

This isn't foolproof, since the same song can easily be posted from a number of different videos, but it will help cut down. and is handy for other youtube posters as well!

Check out this youtube link for a song I'm about to add:

See the part in bold? that's the video ID. Copy that, then click the Search box up top. Paste the video ID into the box, and then click "Search." If something pops up, you've got a duplicate! If not, post away man.

The "Boom Dee Ya Da" song (from Discovery Channel) has a nice, upbeat tune. Cause, we love the whole world! Perhaps the first 30 seconds of lyrics (0:09-0:39).

"Death to my Hometown" by Logh is also quite fitting music (in the lyrics). The refain; 1:13-1:43 would probably do alright. Lotsa death, really weird video.

The famous overture from Bizet's opera "Carmen." 1:25-1:55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=094lyyw4FfY

Or, added with Medic-ness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14a2F1IKPt0 First 20 seconds or last parts on that sounds the best. "Vhat a blood bath!"

Curses! How dare you hijack my post!

Well, I suppose some music will cheer me up. I bet the first part of this song should be suitable for humiliation rounds, playing from the beginning to the 34 second mark with the music fading at the end. Come to think of it, is it fine if it plays a bit over 30 seconds?

I was thinking of the sec. 00:39-01:10

what time is it? it's humiliation round! That's: too good, too bad!

00:01-00:39

and of course...shut me up!

The refrain would fit to the poor losers XD

It's an orchestral version of Starcraft's original Terran 1 theme song for Starcraft 2. The fact that it's orchestral makes it epic enough to be suited for end-round mayham, methinks. My opinion for the cut would be from 0:41-1:10, which could capture the most resonant part of the song for anyone familiar with the song.

I agree that this is a little different than what we normally put on, but I'd really like to see it tried just once and see what the response is. I have a strong feeling it will fit really well.

EDIT: what did I do wrong last time with the link?

Oh, I'm surprised no one has suggested this before! What more appropriate than the Final Fantasy victory fanfare to play for the winners as they humiliate their opposition? In my opinion, the fanfare of the original Final Fantasy is more iconic, and also more upbeat and appropriate.

Just play from the beginning and cut it off whenever the best time is.

well, only one fanfare is really necessary, and the first is easily the best, most upbeat, and most iconic version.

wait, I'm confused. There seems to be two threads to post suggestions for round end songs.

Which one is the right one?

Oh right. I posted in the wrong place then.

I wanted to suggest The Wurzels - Combine Harvester. It's not a gorey kill-them-all kind of song, but it can take on a twist of sick sadistic happy killings. Plus the lyrics are about farm places - and TF2 seems to have a tonne of farm paraphernalia.
