So it was the 50th NCECA and it was AMAZING.

I mentored a couple of students from different universities while I was there and it was a great experience. They have even contacted me again since I've gotten back to tell me how excited and inspired they are to create new work!

I also met my favorite artist and got to chat with her for a while, so that was also awesome and unbelievable.

And FINALLY got to see a dear friend that I haven't seen since '13.

So much more happened in between and my only regret is that the conference was over so fast.

Making Lapras Wars in Pokken.

Side thing that makes me pretty happy: JoJo Season 4 is next month, along with the Ace Attorney anime, and I am hype as hell.

Stress over 4th year university dissertation writing, waiting to hear back from an interviewer about a PhD application...

But I managed to get up early today and do some walking/bird watching, feels good! I used to be quite clued up on my ornithology when I was younger but now nearly everything looks the same. Embarrassing but it was good to see so many species.

Was playing FE Fates on the train on the way home. I was grinding out relationships when I accidentally S-ranked the avatar with Elise. It was then, in my panic, where I proceeded to exclaim, "Ah shit, I accidentally married my own sister!"

Thankfully, I had a separate battle save file so it wasn't permanent, but MAN the look on those passenger's faces. Let me tell you, it was aaaawkwaaard.

Been watching old videos of TF2/CS/L4D with friends, when I came across this old gem:

I just realized how long it's been since I played TF2. Seriously getting an urge run amok again.

Beaten my first playthrough of Star Fox 0.  The best star fox I have ever played.  Those 2 hours were amazing.

Ratchet and Clank was a good movie (which takes alot of worry off my mind).

Axel: The answer, of course, is that Gabe newell doesn't give a fuck

Werefox McCrits: Never realised how much you HATE HIGH-5S
Gelg: My brother died in the Pacific High 5 War of '76
Gelg: I... just can't.
Werefox McCrits: I'm so sorry

Just came back from watching Civil War literally minutes ago (theatres just a few minutes away across some ducks).

My short opinion?
Spoiler:
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT

My long opinion.
Spoiler:
The first half was boringly slow, and T'chala's origin story is hilariously short and overdone that the movie itself kind of just bypassed the King's death in a matter of seconds. That said, T'chala had a huge screen presence, and for his introduction in a movie that wasn't his own, what was shown of his was great. His fight scenes were cool, his outfit is awesome, and his story connected with the theme of the story.

I like Zemo, and probably one of the better villains in the MCU. I like that he wasn't just another villain with a plan that the Avengers have to stop, but a regular human being who had his own adventure that even he wasn't sure would work. I was glad to have watched the trailers, because I was tricked into thinking Ross was the villain and had no knowledge of this guy. It was great being surprised, thinking the finale was a fight against the army of super-soldiers when really it was -- as the title suggested -- more of an internal fight than against an outside force.

Spiderman and Ant-Man were great cameos, Peter Parker especially -- having established his place in this universe. I do have a problem with his surprisingly hot aunt.

Tony Stark was AMAZING in this one. I didn't feel emotionally connected to what weird shit he was going through in AoU, but in here I was definitely sympathetic towards his cause. The final fight wasn't about him just making yet another stupid decision like it felt in AoU, it felt like a stupid decision based on raw emotion -- and honestly justifiably so. And who doesn't make stupid decisions when they're blinded by rage?

The Sokovia Accords were great, and was definitely better done than whatever the hell was the equivalent in the comics. It made sense why you would join on either side, and it didn't have the stupid idea of revealing secret identities to the public (which would be a bad thing for people like Peter Parker).

The ending was fantastic. I'm glad not knowing what's next for the MCU (aside from when the next movies will be), with the ending being so vague about what will follow now that the Avengers are decidedly split down the middle. Will there be two Avengers teams? Will Iron Man still run an Avengers team after all that? Is Black Panther their new infinite pocket instead of Tony Stark? Is there a purpose to that ridiculously large panther stone statue outside your facility that's actually kind of hilarious? Is Bucky going to become an Avenger anytime soon?

So yeah. Again, LOVED it.

Not having owned the previous Cap movies on Bluray yet, I hope they'll release some sort of trilogy soon.

Yeah Danger 5 is pretty good. It's on Netflix if you have it.
